Through our Dark Web Credential Monitoring and Scanning portal, we have recently seen a marked increase in leaked personally identifiable information (PII). Once a cyber-criminal obtains your PII, they can open credit cards, bank accounts, and put your finances at risk. Protecting your PII protects your identity and privacy.
Here are a few tips to help keep your identity safe from cyber-criminals:
1. Avoid filling out surveys online. This may seem harmless, but the more information a hacker can obtain about you, the easier it is for them to steal your identity.
2. Stop giving out personal information -> LIE! When accounts ask for personal information (e.g., your mother’s maiden name, the street you grew up on, etc. – keep replies in your password manager notes section to remember your lies so that you always have them handy.)
3. Be mindful of what you post on social media. (Download tips below)
4. Review credit card and bank statements for suspicious activity regularly. A small innocuous charge may be a precursor to a major financial fraudulent event.
5. Subscribe to our Dark Web monitoring service. We will alert you when any of your PII is revealed on the Dark Web.
6. Have Trinity conduct an in-depth Network and Security Assessment. This will identify vulnerabilities in your systems and provide steps for remediation.
Dark Web ID from Trinity Worldwide Technologies detects your compromised credentials in real-time on the Dark Web. Using a proprietary technology, we vigilantly search the most secretive corners of the Internet to find compromised credentials associated with your company, contractors and other personnel, and notifies you immediately when these critical assets are compromised, before they are used for identity theft, data breaches or other crimes.
